Deleting your account
Account deletion in PillBird is fully self-serve. You can remove your account and all of your data yourself, from inside the app — no email, form, or support request needed.
When an account exists
The base PillBird app works without sign-in. A Firebase Auth account exists only if you opted into a signed-in Plus/payment-linked or other authenticated feature, such as cloud sync or entitlement restore.
How to delete your account
Deletion lives in the app, a couple of taps away. Open PillBird and follow these steps:
- Open the You (Account) tab
- Scroll to the App section at the bottom
- Tap "Delete my account"
- Confirm when prompted to permanently remove your data
What gets removed
Deleting your account clears the local information PillBird keeps on this device. If you are signed in, the app also calls PillBird's backend to delete the Firebase Auth user, subscription/profile records tied to that user, share records we own, and any cloud sync copy.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone, so the app asks you to confirm before it runs. If you want a record of anything first, note it down before you delete.
Why it starts in the app
PillBird is local-first, which means most of your data lives on your device rather than on our servers. Deletion starts in the app so you stay in control. For signed-in users, the app performs the backend deletion first; if that fails, it stops before wiping local data so you can retry.
You do not need to email us, fill in a form, or wait for support before deleting. If the in-app step ever fails or you can't access it, email support@pillbird.com and we'll help you sort it out.
